HOW TO BOWL

with Earthy Andy & Coco Ho

One of the most commonly asked questions we get asked here at SAMBAZON is "How do I make an Açaí Bowl with a thick and creamy consistency"? There's no one better to teach this lesson than the Açaí Bowl Master herself, Earthy Andy!

Watch the video below to see how Earthy Andy teaches Coco Ho, Hawaiian Surfing Icon, how to get a thick, creamy, delicious and nutritious Açaí bowl every time she blends.

  • Step 1

    Firstly

Having a strong blender is key - you can never go wrong with a Ninja, Blendjet, or Vitamix. It's also useful to have a blender that includes a Blender Tamper to move ingredients around. This will help blend your ingredients into a smooth consistency with minimal liquid, making your smoothie bowl that much thicker.

    Step 2

    How Much?

Use 2 SAMBAZON Açaí packets for a thick and delicious smoothie bowl. We recommend giving our Original Blend a try if it's your first time!

    Step 3

    Get your Packs Ready

Cut open packs like a pro by using a sharp non-serrated knife to cut them in half, and then breaking them into your blender. You can also run them under hot water for a few seconds to make them more blend-able. By making the Açaí chunks smaller, you will have a much smoother blending process.

    Step 4

    Freeze those (Peeled) Bananas

If you want a truly creamy texture, the trick is freezing your peeled bananas in advance. They give the smoothie bowl the perfect velvety consistency.

    Step 5

    The More the Merrier

Add other frozen fruit - raspberries, blueberries, pineapple, or mango - the more variety the merrier! We like to mix it up each time with new ingredients.

    Step 6

    Add a Little Liquid

Start slow with a little liquid (about 1 oz per pack). You can always add more liquid if needed, but you can't take it away once it's been added!

    Step 7

    Patience is Key

It takes time to mix and push down ingredients, and your blender might need a moment to rest. Don't get discouraged! The wait is worth the reward! Halfway through, take your blender off the base and shake the ingredients, or stir them with a spoon or your blender tamper to help the blending process (with your blender turned off of course!).

    Step 8

    Get the Consistency Right

You can add liquid in 1 oz increments after blending to get the right consistency but add it slowly. If you overdo it, you can always add in more frozen bananas to get a thicker blend. The method is to blend, mix, check consistency, add liquid or frozen fruit if needed, and repeat! It should be thick enough that it won’t slide out of the blender without help, and have a nice swirl to it.

    Step 9

    Add Texture

Get creative with your toppings: fresh fruit, crunchy granola, hearty nuts and seeds, cocoa nibs, and shredded coconut. Decorate your bowl like the masterpiece that it is!

    Step 10

    Done!

You’ve worked hard to make your Açaí bowl just right, so all there is left to do is enjoy it with a purple smile!
